The 4th DIA Staff Summit was held in Kathmandu, Nepal (28th-30th April), bringing together the entire DIA family - Field Teams and Researchers to Data Specialists, HR, Operations, and Leadership. This year's summit - "Connecting Field Research to Policy: From Data to Decisions, From Insights to Impact" - focused on strengthening how information flows across the organization from field realities and data collection, through research insights, to evidence-based decisions and impact, while building shared ownership of DIA's systems and goals. The training followed a role-specific, two-track approach. Track A (RPCs & PAs) strengthened field-facing skills through sessions on field operations, monitoring, reporting, and team management. Track B (RMs, RAs & SRAs) focused on research ethics, responsible data use, stakeholder engagement, and communicating data through clear narratives and insights. Joint sessions on organizational priorities, HR systems, research ethics, and cross-functional collaboration ensured shared understanding across teams. A standout addition this year was the Capstone: Field Simulation Lab, where RMs, SRAs, RAs, PAs, and RPCs worked in mixed groups to plan and solve different types of research projects. Drawing on two days of learning and their own field experience, teams worked through field planning, data quality, reporting, and communication, adapting DIA's standard approaches to fit different project contexts. Notably, this was the first time RPCs joined the summit, bringing valuable field perspectives into the room and strengthening cross-team collaboration. Beyond the formal sessions, a lively Cultural Night and informal team activities gave team members from across locations a chance to connect through games, performances, and regional food, as members grouped by state and brought snacks and sweets from home for a warm, gala-like evening. Set against Kathmandu's cool, breezy weather and scenic hilly surroundings, this year's summit offered a refreshing setting for learning, collaboration, and team building.
